Recording Projects

One of Anna’s unique offerings is the opportunity to create a collaborative, personalized recording project to honor loved ones, strengthen relationships, and process life changes. After an initial consultation exploring the purpose and vision for your project, Anna will make a high-quality recording using professional equipment and software, incorporating significant sounds or audio discussed beforehand. Anna will send you a draft of the recording and follow up with you to explore any changes or additions you would like to make, as well as possible uses for the recording. This process will be continued until the end result is aligned with your vision.

The process of making this recording may unearth some new insights and emotions, and if you feel you could use additional support or want to continue the collaborative recording process, this project may transition into ongoing sessions. This may also be a one-off project to support a specific, time-bound purpose. Anna will support you in determining your goals and constructing a plan to meet them.

This recording is protected by HIPAA, and will not be shared by Anna without your permission. You are welcome to share the recording however you wish.

Here are some examples of potential recording projects:

Legacy Work

Legacy projects are a way of honoring an individual through highlighting aspects of their life story, including impacts they have had on others. Legacy work is often utilized in bereavement or pre-bereavement to support the grieving process. A legacy project may include:

  • An existing song that has great personal significance (i.e. a song that always reminds you of your loved one, something you would sing together, etc.)
  • An original song using your own words, a letter, or a meaningful poem set to music
  • Audio of you or a loved one singing, playing, or speaking
  • Incorporation of meaningful sounds (a loved one’s heartbeat, sounds of nature, a significant instrument, etc.)

Song of Kin

Song of Kin is a personalized lullaby that utilizes a significant or original song. First developed by Joanne Loewy in her work with medically vulnerable infants and their families, Song of Kin is used to strengthen the parent-child bond and reduce post-partum stress. Song of Kin may include:

  • A significant line or section of a favorite song or nursery rhyme, adapted to support relaxation (slowed tempo, 3/4 time, musically simplified)
  • Audio of parent(s) singing or humming

These are just a couple of examples. Your ideas and creativity are the guide!
